What your appointment involves
Your initial appointment is a full 60 minutes with a Chartered Physiotherapist. We listen to your history, assess your posture, pelvis and movement, and explain what’s driving your symptoms. Treatment may include gentle hands-on therapy, taping or support belt advice, tailored exercises, and clinically guided APPI Pilates adapted for pregnancy. You’ll leave knowing what’s going on, what to do about it, and what to expect as your pregnancy progresses.

FAQs
- Is physiotherapy safe during pregnancy?
-
All assessment and treatment is adapted to your stage of pregnancy, and we’ll always explain what we’re doing and why. You stay in control throughout.
- When should I come in?
-
At any stage. Early treatment of pelvic girdle pain usually means faster relief, but we can help at any trimester.
- Do I need a GP or midwife referral?
-
No, you can book directly. If you’re using private medical insurance, check whether your insurer requires authorisation first.
- Can physiotherapy help me prepare for birth?
-
We can assess your pelvic floor, teach effective relaxation and pushing preparation strategies, and advise on positions and pacing for late pregnancy.
- What should I wear?
-
Comfortable clothing you can move in. You’ll never be asked to undress beyond what you’re comfortable with.
